Popular Twitch streamer Pokimane, the platform’s most-followed female creator, has launched her first podcast today, marking her latest efforts to expand her brand to new channels.
The new podcast, Don’t Tell Anyone, is a weekly show which covers the streamer’s “hottest takes and embarrassing secrets”, according to its description, “covering internet culture, relationships, money, wellness, beauty standards and everything in between”. The show is produced by the streamer in collaboration with producer Abigail Lowenthal, and is being created independently rather than as part of a wider network.
Pokimane, real name Imane Anys, has made her career streaming a variety of videogames, and has amassed more than 30 million followers across social media platforms, including more than 9 million Twitch followers and more than 6 million YouTube subscribers.
“I’ve been [a content creator] for the last nine-plus years - about a decade of my life - and I just cannot believe I finally have a podcast,” Anys said on the first episode of the show. “I’ve been thinking about and dreaming of this day for a long, long time, and contemplating it, and now we’re finally here!”
Anys has previously co-founded a number of businesses, including talent management firm RTS, creator collective OfflineTV and packaged goods brand Myna Snacks. She is part of a growing trend of content creators who are choosing to expand into podcasting as brand extensions after initially finding fame through platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Twitch, including GK Barry, Maddie Grace Jepson and Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, who have all chosen podcasts as a key vehicle for their ongoing strategies.
