What We Do In The Shadows spinoff to get its own companion podcast

Wellington Paranormal The Podcast will be hosted by TV show’s co-stars

Wellington Paranormal, the TV show set in the universe of Taika Waititi’s What We Do In the Shadows, has received its own companion podcast, the stars of the show have announced.

Created as a spin-off from the supernatural comedy series (itself an adaptation of Waititi’s film of the same name), Wellington Paranormal is a spoof mockumentary focused on a police department dealing with creatures such as vampires and werewolves.

Wellington Paranormal The Podcast is hosted by the show’s co-stars, Mike Minogue and Karen O’Leary, and will look at the making of the TV series, including interviews with other actors and creative leads of the show. The podcast is produced by Frank Podcasts, a podcast network set up by Minogue and fellow New Zealand comedian Tim Batt, who co-hosts The Worst Idea Of All Time podcast. The first episode of the podcast was released today, with new episodes every thursday.

“Karen and I are excited to be bringing this podcast to our fans all around the world. They’ll both be thrilled,” said Minogue. “We’re looking forward to dissecting each episode as well as talking to both the people who created the show, and celebrity fans who, correctly, think Wellington Paranormal is the greatest thing to ever appear on screen.”

The TV show is still on a hiatus following the conclusion of its fourth season last year, with producer Jermaine Clement yet to confirm a date for its return.
