Crowd Network’s hit comedy podcast The Sam & Billie Show has signed a distribution and ad sales deal with Wondery and Amazon Music, the independent podcast network has announced, bringing ad-free listening to users.
The podcast, hosted by TV personalities and sisters Sam and Billie Faiers, is part of Crowd Network’s personality-led subsidiary, Crowd People, which includes podcasts hosted by other public figures including The Katie Price Show, The Joe Marler Show, and Go Love Yourself with Laura Adlington and Lauren Smith.
As part of the deal, episodes of the show are now available to listen to ad-free for Amazon Music subscribers. Brands will also be able to access more advertising opportunities on The Sam & Billie Show which will further monetise the podcast and help it reach new audiences.
“We love nothing more than sharing our daily dramas from parenting to parties, sprinkled with all the juicy gossip and funny stories from the people we meet,” said the Faiers sisters. “We’re thrilled to partner with Wondery and Amazon Music and look forward to engaging with new listeners on our podcast.”
This is the third European ad sales and distribution deal for Wondery and Amazon Music, having signed with hit true-crime podcast RedHanded in April and with comedy podcast Brydon & in May this year.
“Sam and Billie have established a winning formula, with their loyal fanbase enjoying an entertaining weekly deep dive into the hectic lives of Essex’s most famous sisters and we’re delighted to partner with them on their hugely popular podcast,” said Wondery Europe head of commercial James Cator. “This latest distribution deal further extends the breadth and depth of our podcast slate, increasing audience reach and providing new opportunities for UK ad customers.”
Wondery also recently expanded its presence in the UK by partnering with podcast production company Goalhanger to launch a new podcast. The series, which aired on 15 November, is titled Legacy and is hosted by historian Peter Frankopan and writer, broadcaster and journalist Afua Hirsch, who reexamine the reputations of key figures throughout history. Other UK original podcasts from Wondery include history podcast British Scandal and true crime podcast Ghost Story.
