Oprah Winfrey is launching and hosting a new three-part companion series to accompany her newly-launched book Build The Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier with her co-author Arthur C. Brooks, according to a new announcement from the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
The series is published under the network's flagship show Oprah’s Super Soul, which features Winfrey in conversation with a number of leading figures and celebrities. Each episode, Winfrey and Brooks will dive into a different topic from the book and answer questions from fans who have read it.
Topics that will be explored include understanding the science behind happiness, why helping others is important, forgiving loved ones, what real friends are like, how to have a happy and fulfilling career, and so on. The first episode launched on 20 November and is available to listen to across all major podcast platforms, and to watch on the OWN YouTube channel.
In addition to launching the miniseries, the OWN network will continue to release new episodes of Oprah’s Super Soul throughout the remainder of the year featuring interviews with Dr. Anita Phillips, Nicole Avant, Courtney B. Vance, Dr. Robin, Kerry Washington, and Jamie Kern Lima talking about their new books.
OWN announced that it would be introducing a new slate of podcasts in April this year after renewing its multi-year ad sales partnership with broadcasting company SiriusXM. The agreement allows for Sirius XM’s advertising sales group SXM Media to retain exclusive audio and video ad sales rights across OWN’s podcast portfolio and for Stitcher Media, a subsidiary under SiriusXM, to keep exclusive distribution rights for the podcasts.
Sales for Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday are also represented by Octave Audio in the UK after the advertising company signed a deal with audio adtech company Adswizz to become the UK exclusive sales representative for SiriusXM’s slate of podcasts.
Other podcasts within OWN include a number of hit unscripted and scripted podcasts such as Eckhart Tolle: Essential Teachings, Oprah’s Master Class, The Oprah Winfrey Show: The Podcast, Trials to Triumph and Iyanla: Fix My Life. The OWN has also launched a number of other companion podcasts under Oprah’s Super Soul including six-part limited series The Covenant of Water with author Abraham Verghese.
