Football pundit and former professional football player Gary Neville is hosting a new podcast as part of his ongoing partnership with gambling company Sky Bet, the company has announced.
The weekly podcast series is titled Stick To Football, and launched yesterday as an extension of The Overlap, the podcast created as part of Neville’s and Sky Bet's initial partnership in 2021. The new show debuted on The Overlap's YouTube channel and is also available to listen to across all major podcast platforms. It’s hosted by Neville as well as fellow commentators and former professional football players Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright, and Roy Keane.
Each episode will see the co-hosts discussing the biggest highlights and takeaways from the world of football as well as interviewing big names across sport, music, and entertainment.
“I’m very excited to renew my partnership with Sky Bet, which has seen us become one of the most-watched football channels on YouTube,” said Neville. “I am looking forward to speaking to even more brilliant people, in the world of football and beyond!”
“We’re delighted to be able to extend our partnership with Gary and The Overlap team,” said Sky Bet head of content and social Kevin Brian. “We know that fans can’t get enough of quality football content and we’re proud to play our part in making it happen. I’m personally really excited to see this new lineup in action together.”
In February, Neville and Sky Bet announced that they would be extending their partnership for three more years, with Sky Bet continuing to sponsor The Overlap channel on YouTube until 2026. The Overlap is a production under the media division of Neville’s company Relentless.
“Our partnership with Sky Bet has seen us speak to some of the best talent in football and sport, with insightful, in-depth interviews with athletes that our viewers wouldn’t see anywhere else,” said Relentless Media chief executive officer Katy Leeson. “Seeing Gary team up with the new line-up for Stick To Football will bring a regularity to our output, whilst maintaining the high-quality content that our fans associate with The Overlap.”
In addition to Neville, a number of former football professional players have also expanded their audiences with podcasts - including Gary Lineker, co-founder of podcast production company Goalhanger and now host of The Rest is Football alongside Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, Fraser Franks who now hosts Understanding Men alongside former cricket player Luke Sutton, and others.
