Bauer Media Group chief financial officer and chief operating officer Vivian Mohr has been appointed as the new president of Bauer Media Audio, replacing Richard Dawkins, according to a statement from the company.
The publisher announced earlier this month that Dawkins would be stepping down from his role, which he served in since May 2022, due to “differing ideas around the next phase of transformation” for Bauer Media Audio.
Mohr joined Bauer in February 2022 and has over 10 years of experience in leading organisations and improving operational and financial performance. Prior to joining Bauer, Mohr worked in senior positions across a number of organisations including chief integration officer at CH Media.
“I was very honoured to be approached by Yvonne Bauer [CEO and owner of Bauer Media Group] regarding this role,” said Mohr. “Bauer Media Audio has incredible potential – both in traditional business and in digital. And it will be an inspiring challenge to set up and implement a transnational and future-oriented strategy together with the talented Audio teams. I look forward to bringing my skills and broad experience to the role.”
In his new role, Mohr will be responsible for driving Bauer Media Audio’s next phase of growth and strategy, continuing its business in traditional radio as well as building a sustainable future which includes podcast and on-demand radio growth.
“Vivian has most recently demonstrated his skills in strategy development and in the successful merger with Netrisk Group in the OCP business,” said Bauer. “In taking on the role of President BA Audio, Vivian is, in a way, returning to his roots in media strategy and performance management.
“He led the integration of two of Switzerland’s largest radio chains, supported bolt-on acquisitions of regional stations and managed the landmark acquisition of the country’s largest private TV broadcaster.”
As part of Bauer’s audio expansion, the publisher recently launched Rayo in March which is an app and web platform that acts as an all-in-one destination for all of Bauer’s audio portfolio, including podcasts and on-demand radio.
