Radiotopia, the podcast network under the Public Radio Exchange (PRX), has announced a new podcast slate set to be released in the coming months.
“We’re thrilled to offer ground-breaking work this fall from both longtime and new partners,” said Radiotopia executive producer Audrey Mardavich. “These new series and seasons will range from deeply reported work to pure delight.
“Our goal at Radiotopia is to help you look at the world in a new way, and each show is wholeheartedly delivering on that promise.”
Starting this September, Radiotopia will be launching two new podcasts including a five-part miniseries from comedy interview podcast Everything is Alive, titled The Animals. The series, which premieres on 27 September, is from the co-creator of Radiotopia’s In the Scenes Behind Plain Sight podcast and will feature the life stories of different animals with performances from comedians and actors Hari Kondabolu, Connor Ratliff, Maeve Higginsm, and more.
On 28 September comes a brand new series from Radio Diaries titled The Unmarked Graveyard: Stories from Hart Island on the stories of the unidentified individuals that were buried at America’s largest public cemetery. The series, hosted by Radio Diaries founder and executive producer Joe Richman, was named an official selection of the 2023 Tribeca Festival and honoured alongside a number of other nonfiction podcast creators.
Other new shows from Radiotopia include a special podcast series from radio writer and producer Benhamen Walker launching on 7 November. The podcast titled Not All Propaganda is Art follows the stories of three writers that fought on the front lines during the cultural cold war between 1956 and 1960 and were targeted by American, British and French spy agencies. The podcast will feature archival audio, interviews, original research, and dramatisations of historical records.
In addition to the new shows, the upcoming slate also includes new seasons of hit shows from the network such as award-winning storytelling and culture podcast Adult ISH from YR Media, which will be returning for its 10th season on 12 October. The podcast is hosted by the creator of Not Your Father’s podcast, Nyge Turner, and producer Dominique "Dom" French, and the new season will feature call-backs from favourite episodes and conversations with old friends from the show to celebrate its 10th season.
Other shows that will be returning in October include Normal Gossip from Defector Media on the 18th with hosts Kelsey McKinney and Alex Sujong Laughlin, following the podcast’s successful nationwide US tour.
Radiotopia also recently launched the 12th season of its Pulitzer Prize finalist documentary podcast Ear Hustle at the start of September, showing the realities of life inside prison from the perspective of people experiencing it, as well as a new season of audio fiction podcast Mumbai Crime from Goldhawk Productions. Radiotopia’s slate of podcasts are available to listen to on all major podcast platforms.
