Audio technology company Nomono has joined the British Podcast Awards as the event’s official audio partner, the company has announced, and will be sponsoring the Rising Star category.
The winner of the award will receive a free Nomono Sound Capsule as part of their prize. The all-in-one recording device is worth over £2,000 and includes four wireless microphones, a spatial sound recorder and a portable charging case.
Nominees in this category are Chanté Joseph, host of The Guardian’s Pop Culture podcast, host of the Betwixt the Sheets Podcast Dr Kate Lister, founder of We Are Black Journos and host of Love, Janessa, Hannah Ajala, co-founder of Arcade Media and host of UNBOXED, Jordan Schwarzenberger, Sam Tyler, creator of the podcast There Are No Greater Heroes, and Broccoli Productions producer Talia Augustidis.
In addition to sponsoring the Rising Star award, Nomono will also be sponsoring a special edition of the PodPod podcast, which will feature interviews recorded using the Sound Capsule during the event.
"Since we introduced the Sound Capsule last year, the support and interest from the British podcast scene has been amazing," said Nomono head of marketing Stein Vegusdal. "Being Audio Partner for this year´s British Podcast Awards gives us a great opportunity to showcase the capabilities of the Sound Capsule. Outernet will be packed with an enthusiastic and noisy crowd, making it the perfect location for a Sound Capsule podcast!"
"As the sponsors of this year's Rising Star category, we hope to give the winner the ability to truly explore podcasting from anywhere. Get out of the studio and record the conversations and stories where they happen!"
