CBS News, a division of television and radio service CBS, has announced the launch of a new podcast slate for September and October, produced by the audio arm of parent company Paramount.
The upcoming lineup includes a number of returning podcasts including season four of hit history podcast Mobituaries, hosted by CBS News Sunday morning correspondent Mo Rocca and co-produced with iHeartPodcasts. The new season is premiering 4 October and will feature a profile on late athlete Jim Thorpe and singer and songwriter Peggy Lee, as well as special episodes looking back at people who died on the same day and more.
Another podcast returning for its fourth series is true crime podcast My Life of Crime with TV series 48 Hours correspondent Erin Moriarty, debuting on 18 October. This season features Moriarty going behind the scenes of crimes within families and speaking to people involved in the cases, using her three decades of experience as a lawyer and reporter.

In addition to the returning series, CBS News is also launching two new podcasts that are produced by Paramount Audio this September. The first is premiering on 19 September and is a podcast adaptation of the hit TV true-crime series 48 Hours. The podcast is titled Post Mortem from 48 Hours and features correspondents from the main show talking about the behind the scenes details of the cases they report on, talking about key evidence and twists that they’ve found.
Later this month on 28 September, CBS News will be releasing a documentary podcast series titled Agent of Betrayal on the secret life of Robert Hanssen, whose espionage was described as the “worst intelligence disaster” in US history by the Department of Justice. The podcast is hosted by Major Garrett, CBS News’ chief Washington correspondent and host of The Takeout, and features interviews with Hanssen’s family, friends, and colleagues.
The new slate from CBS News is part of the network’s commitment to expand its on-demand audio content, which compliments other content on the platform like the 48 Hours franchise. Podcast studio Paramount Audio develops a number of companion podcasts to franchises including shows for TV series like CBS’s Survivor and The Daily Show as well as franchise expansions for programmes like Star Trek.
