Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley will be the new host and narrator for the newest season of Spyscape’s true-crime podcast True Spies, the creators have announced.
The new mini-series is titled The Oswald Project and tells the story of the alleged assassin of President John F. Kennedy, Lee Harvey Oswald. Fight Club actor Edward Norton will bring Oswald’s story to life by voicing the words written in his diaries and incorporating scripted elements, playing Oswald as if he’s being interviewed.
“Like everyone, I am fascinated by the mystery of JFK’s assassination and the character of Lee Harvey Oswald, so I’m thrilled to kick off my run as the host of True Spies with this story,” said Ridley. “I am also honoured to take over the True Spies recording booth which has been occupied so beautifully by Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby and Sophia DiMartino.”
Other people that will be interviewed on the podcast with Ridley include JFK assassination experts John M. Newman, author of JFK and Vietnam: Deception, Intrigue, and the Struggle for Power, and Jefferson Morely, editor of the JFK Facts blog. They will both talk about the CIA operation ‘Oswald Project’, which was intended to set up Oswald as a KGB double-agent.
The Oswald Project mini-series is set to premiere later this month, available exclusively to Spyscape+ subscribers from 11 July and across all podcast platforms from 18 July. Subscribers will also gain access to ad-free listening and exclusive bonus content including a companion series to the podcast, True Spies Debriefs, and The Razumov Files which is an audio adaptation of spy thriller Under Western Eyes with Jessica Brown.
Skyscape is an entertainment brand and museum in New York which has expanded its audio offerings after launching its own podcast network, with support from production company Cup and Nuzzle.
