A new sci-fi Audible original podcast series is launching this fall from Felicia Day, the creator of The Guild and the Felicitations! games podcast.
The series, titled Third Eye, is a fantasy comedy created and written by Day and narrated by the author of The Sandman, Neil Gaiman. Day will also star as the main character in the series, alongside other actors like Lord of The Rings’ Sean Astin, Fresh off the Boat’s Hudson Yang, OfflineTV’s LilyPichu, and more.
“As my biggest passion project since The Guild, I am thrilled that Audible has allowed me to bring Third Eye to life in the exact way I’ve been imagining for years,” said Day. “I can’t wait for fans to listen and fall in love with these characters as much as I have.”
The series, which premieres 5 October exclusively on Audible, is produced by strategic marketing and experiential agency Clamor. It is also post-produced by worker-owned audio production company Mumble Media. The company has worked with Audible on another original series titled Koz on the real story of Darrin Kozlowski, who investigated outlaw motorcycle gangs when he was an agent for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Day hosts a number of other successful podcasts including her solo podcast Felicitations!, which includes interviews with a number of authors and other personalities as well as a regular book club. Day also previously starred in sci-fi and improv comedy podcast Voyage To The Stars under SiriusXM’s production company Earwolf.
“Third Eye is a testament to Felicia Day’s unparalleled creativity, transporting listeners to a genre-bending universe of science-fiction blended with comedy,” said Audible head of studios Zola Mashariki. “With a uniquely imaginative performance, Neil Gaiman headlines an outstanding cast comprised of genre royalty. Third Eye is sure to captivate audiences worldwide, and we’re thrilled to add yet another exciting show to our growing collection of Audible originals.”
Audible’s podcast portfolio includes a number of fantasy and sci-fi series including Gaiman’s The Sandman which has been running for three seasons, as well as Impact Winter which recently announced new cast members joining the series ahead of the new season premiering mid-July this year.
