Olivia Wilde and Chris Pine to star in new audio thriller series

Stars join other A-listers on podcast network QCode, including Rami Malek, Tessa Thompson and Naomi Scott

Don’t Worry Darling’s Olivia Wilde and Chris Pine are reuniting on another project, starring alongside each other in a new scripted socio-political audio thriller for QCode.

QCode is a podcast network and audio production studio which has created a number of podcasts starring A-list celebrities, including Audible Original The Prophecy with Kerry Washington, The Left Right Game with Tessa Thompson, Blackout with Rami Malek, and more.

The new series, titled Ad Lucem, will be set in New York City and follows the story of fictional tech company Ad Lucem OI and the consequences of its latest innovation, a Corporeal Augmented Reality Assistant (CARA).

“I had a great time partnering with QCode and working alongside amazing talents Olivia and Fiona on this thought-provoking series,” said Pine. “The podcast is extremely relevant to the technological upheavals happening in all our lives and questions its impact on real, human connection. I’m excited to share this gripping series with audiences everywhere.”

Fellow actors Troian Bellisario from Pretty Little Liars and Josh Close from Fargo co-created the audio series, and both Pine and Wilde are also executive producers of the show. Other actors that will feature in the series include Fiona Shaw, Clancy Brown and Patrick Adams.

“As we live more of our lives online, Ad Lucem touches on our growing concerns regarding technology and its ability to disconnect us emotionally, mentally and spiritually,” said Bellisario and Close. “Is this hurting us more than helping? Who are we online? And how do we adapt to A.I. as human beings? With conflicted three-dimensional characters in an operatic and entertaining setting, we think this podcast will be an extremely provocative and fun journey for listeners.”

QCode was founded in 2018 by creative agent Rob Herting, in partnership with production company Automatik and management firm Grandview. The studio focuses on creating immersive narrative podcasts with top creative talent and has won a number of awards including Best Fiction Scriptwriting for Dirty Diana and Best Production and Sound Design and Best Performer in Audio Fiction for The Left Right Game at the 2021 Ambies.
