Independent podcast company Crowd Network has announced the launch of a new branded podcast in partnership with Manchester Airport.
This podcast marks the first official series created as part of Crowd Network’s new content division, Crowd Branded, which launched at the end of April and is dedicated to helping brands add podcasts to their media mix.
The “collaborative production” titled Manchester: Your Airport, MAN will explore the inner workings and behind-the-scenes details of Manchester airport, from how an airfield works to what kind of arrangements are put in place when celebrities are travelling. The first six episodes of the podcast will launch on 22 May and will be available on all major podcast platforms.
“When we were planning this project, we wanted to find a partner with the right level of creativity and expertise, but one that also fully understands the importance of the airport to the region,” said Manchester Airport communications director and co-host of the series Adam Jupp. “That is what we found in Crowd Branded and it has been a pleasure to work with them from start to finish.”
Co-host of Crowd Network’s rugby podcast The Joe Marler Show, Tom Fordyce, will also co-host the series and interview a number of special guests, including Manchester Airport managing director Chris Woodroofe, holiday expert and journalist Simon Calder, and the team behind live aviation channel Airliners Live.
“As someone who lives down the road, I’ve flown through Manchester Airport heaps of times – but I’ve never seen it like this before,” said Fordyce. “It’s hard to say whether it was more fun racing down the runway in the patrol car or being at the top of the control tower watching the planes coming and going, but it’s been great talking to so many different people about all the many different roles that keep the airport running smoothly.”
Crowd Branded is the fourth content division from the podcast company, with others including Crowd Sports with podcasts from world class athletes, Crowd Stories which features investigative and documentary podcasts, and Crowd People with lifestyle podcasts.
“It’s been a joy to work with the Manchester Airport team on the show, and a perfect example of the work we want to create through Crowd Branded,” said Crowd Network CEO Mike Carr. “It’s taking a household name and finding a new way for people to connect to it.”
“A podcast is the perfect format to do this, bringing genuinely interesting storytelling from the people on the ground and behind the scenes at this iconic Manchester institution.”
