Damian Kerlin

Northern-Irish-born, Cardiff-living writer, broadcaster and content creator Damian Kerlin is an LGBTQ+ powerhouse. As well as writing and managing his own blog, Kerlin has written for publications such as Attitude, The Telegraph, The Independent, and Gay Community News. He is a regular columnist for Out News Global and a feature writer for the Belfast Telegraph, where he writes on LGBTQ+ culture and current affairs.

Kerlin featured as part of Sony’s Broccoli Productions award-winning flagship podcast, Anthems Pride, and executive-produced Routes, a four-part documentary on the 1919 race riots across Britain. Kerlin has also co-hosted and contributed to Heart of Cardiff: LGBTQ+ Stories podcast (Sherman Theatre), The Adoption and Fostering podcast, Parents We’ve Got You (BBC), Dot Davies (BBC Radio Wales) and Radio Wales Breakfast with Claire Summers. He will be the host of the podcast for Europe’s largest LGBTQ+ Film Festival, Iris Prize, in collaboration with Channel 4 and Film 4. It is due for release during Pride.

Kerlin was also selected as one of three Acast Amplifiers for his LGBTQ+ docu-series podcast Memories From the Dancefloor, which celebrates LGBTQ+ venues and shines a light on the history of these incredible spaces including their staff and patrons. Memories From the Dance Floor was released for LGBTQ+ History Month and with over 15,000 downloads in its first month, it was Acast’s third highest-listened-to new podcast in February 2023.
