Audio equipment manufacturer Focusrite has launched a USB microphone trade-in programme, giving podcast creators a 25% discount on the company’s range of Vocaster products.
The programme allows US and UK customers the opportunity to exchange their current USB microphone, regardless of brand and condition, for a 25% discount on any item in the Focusrite Vocaster range.
The Focusrite Vocaster series includes two USB interfaces, allowing users to connect XLR microphones to their PC for enhanced audio quality, but also covers bundles including headphones and microphones - all of which are eligible for discounts under the new programme.
“Focusrite's USB Microphone Trade-In Programme demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting podcasters in producing exceptional audio content,” said Focusrite head of product Will Hoult. “By offering a 25% discount across our Vocaster range, we're making it easier for creators to access the equipment necessary to elevate their audio quality.”
In order to gain access to the programme, customers must fill out a form on the Focusrite website with details about their current USB microphone and which Vocaster device they’re interested in. Within 3-5 days, the company says, a Focusrite team member will authorise the upgrade and send the discount code via email, along with instructions on how to recycle the USB mic and the address to send it to.
The USB microphone trade-in programme is also part of Focusrite’s commitment to sustainability and reducing overall material consumption, the company said, by taking in used devices in good condition and finding them a new home or recycling the parts. Focusrite previously launched a similar Studio Trade-in Programme, which also offered a 25% discount for customers that traded in eligible Focusrite or Novation equipment for the latest gear.
