Podcast company Libsyn has appointed Patrick Dolan, digital advertising expert and former president of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), as chairman of the board.
Dolan has been promoted from his previous position as member of the Libsyn board of directors, which he joined in November 2021, a year after leaving his position at the IAB, where he worked for over a decade. Before becoming president of the IAB, Dolan served in roles at the trade organisation as executive vice-president and COO.
“Libsyn is reaping the benefits of its innovation investments, expanded partnerships, and scaling of its advertising business – and is experiencing significant growth with both podcast creators and brand advertisers,” said Dolan. “I look forward to driving the next phase of accelerated growth for the podcasting pioneer in tandem with Libsyn’s leadership team.”
In his new role, Dolan will be responsible for driving Libsyn’s global growth within the podcast market in the same way that he transformed the IAB by increasing membership through initiatives such as the IAB Podcast Upfronts annual conference, which brings together podcast creators, agencies and brands.
Dolan brings two decades' worth of experience in digital advertising to Libsyn, having worked in other roles such as serving as director of business operations at internet advertising company DoubleClick, where he established international financial operations and integrated new businesses that DoubleClick acquired, such as market researcher Abacus.

Earlier this month, Libsyn announced that it appointed Meredith Krantz, former vice-president of digital partnerships at Cumulus Podcast Network, as the new director of brand partnerships within its ad marketplace, AdvertiseCast. Her responsibilities in this role include driving brand partnerships as well as selling podcast-first direct and programmatic ad campaigns.
