Former stars of 'The L Word' Kate Moennig and Leisha Hailey have partnered with audio ad sales firm AdLarge, the company has announced, bringing their PANTS podcast to its podcast network.
PANTS is a weekly podcast which launched in 2020 and features Meonnig and Hailey, twenty years after their famous roles on Showtime’s LGBTQ+ show 'The L Word', in conversation about the ins and outs of their daily lives.
“This platform helps us connect with our 'L Word' audience on a new level,” said Hailey. “Here we can have open and honest conversations about our lives outside the show, as well as bringing the fans into the inner workings of all 9 seasons of 'The L Word'. We are so excited to be partnering with the talented team at AdLarge!”
As part of this partnership, AdLarge will take over the business and monetisation aspects of the podcast by connecting the show with its large network of podcast advertisers which run from “Fortune 500 companies to emerging [direct-to-consumer] brands”.
The announcement comes during Women’s History Month. AdLarge CEO Cathy Csukas said that the partnership is part of AdLarge’s continuing mission to amplify voices from underrepresented voices across the podcast industry, which includes “the LGBTQIA+ community”.
“The genuine friendship and real conversations shared on the podcast, bring a comfortable relatability to a passionate audience looking to authentically connect with others sharing the same human experience,” said Csukas. “PANTS is exactly the type of podcast our advertisers have been looking for.”
Other expansions into the podcasting space that AdLarge has made recently include a new content partnership with podcast network PodCo to create a new slate of Disney and Nickelodeon rewatch podcasts by supporting the company financially and connecting it to its portfolio of advertisers. PodCo’s podcast portfolio so far includes Wizards of Waverly Pod with Jennifer Stone and David DeLuis, Ned's Declassified Podcast Survival Guide!, Brotherly Love Podcast, and Even More Stevens.
