Entries for PodPod’s first annual Faces To Watch programme close in less than two weeks, leaving limited time remaining for industry figures to submit their nominations.
The scheme, which is free to enter, has been launched to champion emerging talent within the podcast sector, including those on the commercial, advertising and management side of the business, as well as creative and production roles.
The judging panel for the scheme includes representatives from major organisations within the podcasting and advertising industries, including AudioUK, City University, and Ogilvy.
“We’ve had a number of outstanding nominations already, and we’re really looking forward to getting started with the judging process,” said PodPod editor Adam Shepherd. “It’s so exciting to have a chance to spotlight the huge range of rising stars that are energising the podcast economy.”
However, Shepherd particularly encouraged organisations to consider submitting nominations for commercially-focused individuals, noting that while creative roles are a huge part of the podcast community, other areas are equally important.
“We love talking to hosts and producers, but those working behind the scenes also play an essential role,” he said, “and are just as deserving of recognition for the tireless work they do making podcasting a commercially viable industry.”
Submissions for the scheme close on 10 March, and are open to UK-based individuals who have been working in podcasting for less than five years. Successful winners will receive an editorial feature on PodPod, as well as the chance to join us onstage at The Podcast Show to discuss the industry and their career within it.
