Podcast company Libsyn has announced the launch of Libsyn Connect, a new browser-based tool on its platform which allows for higher-quality remote recording sessions.
The new product, which is now available in beta, was announced on day one of this year’s PodFest Expo, an annual conference that brings together speakers and experts across the podcasting industry.
The all-in-one tool includes features such as multi-track recording for both in-person and remote attendees, automatic syncing, a built-in chat sidebar that allows for conversation during the recording, and a mobile-friendly option for recording on the go.
“We’ve doubled down on our innovation investments and our platform strategy is paying off — with the scaling of our advertising business, international expansion, and enhancements to cutting-edge tools for creators and advertisers,” said president and CPO of Libsyn John W. Gibbons. “We’re delivering on our mission to unlock the creative potential of the full spectrum of podcasters – from independents to established creators – by empowering them to bring their diverse voices to life, grow their audiences, and monetise their shows — with ease from a single destination.”
The new tool sits alongside Libsyn Studio, an all-in-one planning, recording, and distribution solution which went into general availability last month. Libsyn Studio is included in the platform at no additional cost to members with a podcast hosting plan, and includes automated post-production editing tools such as reusable chapters for intros and outros.
Other recent innovations and announcements that Libsyn has made in its effort to empower podcasters include supporting Apple Podcasts’ delegated delivery subscription tool and an Automatic Ads programmatic solution for easy podcast monetisation.
Libsyn has also expanded its partnerships with the recent announcement of an exclusive multi-year monetisation deal between its self-service AdvertiseCast marketplace and award-winning true-crime podcast, Lore.
