A global festival exploring the business of podcasting, The Podcast Show has officially announced details of its return for 2023, with tickets to go on sale in January.
The event will take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, from 24 to 25 May for the business festival, with the addition of a week-long live podcast show festival featuring 30 recordings in total, running from 23 to 28 May.
Independent podcast network Acast and Amazon Music, through its podcast network Wondery, will be headlining next year’s Podcast Show, while BBC Sounds, Global, and podcasting distribution platform Audioboom will be joining as official partners.
"The Podcast Show brings together all corners of the podcast industry to chat, debate and celebrate everything to do with podcasts,” said marketing & PR manager of Acast UK Nick Harnett. “It's an important event for Acast as it allows us to contribute to raising the profile of podcasting, and work alongside our peers on best practices.”
“Next year we are going to bring our expertise on what we do best, helping podcasters grow their shows and earn revenue – showcasing examples of advertising, sponsorship and subscriptions,” added Harnett. “We will also bring some of the biggest Acast Creator Network podcasters to the show to offer advice, tips and tricks on starting and growing your own podcast."
This year’s Podcast Show in May amassed over 9500 visitors throughout the festival, who came from around the world to attend. Over 500 brands attended the event and multiple well-known podcasters made an appearance including the BBC’s Grounded with Louis Theroux, My Dad Wrote A Porno, The Receipts, Kermode & Mayo’s Take, and British Scandal.
Alongside the addition of 15 more live shows, other new changes taking place at The Podcast Show 2023 include doubling the size of the Brand Works Theatre, which will be presented by Global and Campaign, highlighting independent podcasters through a meet & greet spot at The Creator’s Corner with Acast, an ‘invitation-only’ networking drinks spot called the PodHouse and tickets to an exclusive launch party and preview night on 23 May.
