Audio company iHeartMedia is producing a new podcast series in partnership with media agency Known to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Hall of Achievement.
The eight-part series titled Future Legends of Advertising will feature conversations between advertising luminaries and the new eight industry leaders added to the Hall of Achievement class of 2022 by the AAF to mark the occasion.
“Who better to talk about the issues affecting our industry today and tomorrow than those advertising luminaries who have been there,” said chief marketing officer of iHeartMedia, Gayle Troberman, “and those who are plotting the course of our future.”
Season one of the podcast will explore topics around branded content, data science, war for talent, and more around the advertising industry. Episode one debuted on 16 November with an interview between vice chairman of digital media company Media Link Wenda Harris Millard, with new inductee chief growth officer of feminine hygiene company Thinx, Crystal Zerrenner.
“What makes this podcast so timely and amazing is that it is an opportunity to showcase the new spirit of creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and public service that is embodied by this year’s Advertising Hall of Achievers,” said president of Known and former inductee of the AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement Ross Martin.
In its Q2 financial results this year, iHeartMedia reported that its podcast revenue is up by 60% year on year due to its investment in new podcasts. Recent projects from the audio company included an English and Spanish multilingual podcast series titled The Best Soccer Podcast in the World with Exile Content Studio, a partnership with football league NFL to create a number of shows for the network including weekly analysis podcast The Season with Peter Schrage and football preview show El Huddle.
